Meet Mary
I understand how important it is to be involved in your child's development, which is why I make it a priority to partner with families every step of the way. My goal is not only to help your child build communication, literacy, and feeding skills, but also to provide you with the tools, strategies, and confidence to support their growth beyond our therapy sessions. Together, we can create meaningful progress that carries over into everyday life.
Mary Wise M.A. CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist/Orofacial Myologist
& Owner
I am a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of New Jersey and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Ohio University and a Master of Arts in Education in Communication Disorders at Eastern Kentucky University.
I specialize in dyslexia/literacy intervention, orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs), feeding disorders, and speech sound disorders.
I am a lifelong learner and have completed many hours of continuing education training including the Orton-Gillingham Approach, The Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, AEIOU (An Integrated Approach to Feeding), The Myo Method, and Simon Says Program (Tiny Tongue Tips). I am PROMPT trained as well as trained in Natural Language Acquisition (NLA), or Gestalt Language Processing.
I have over 10 years of experience providing speech therapy in early intervention with the birth to three population, outpatient pediatric hospitals, schools, and private practice.
My intention is to provide goal focused, holistic, evidence-based therapy for all children. I encourage parents and other family members to be a partner in the child's therapy journey. I want to make you feel confident in the process by giving you the tools you need to support your child's skills outside of the therapy session. The more support a child receives outside of the therapy session, the better the outcomes!
